Sears Holdings announced today it’s closing down another 150 non-profitable Kmart and 42 Sears stores as it fights to stem losses. It looks like none of those closings will be in the Rochester area.
Sears announced an earlier round of closings last month, including their store at the Galleria Mall in the Buffalo area.
Yesterday, Macy’s announced it will close its Marketplace store in Henrietta within three months as part of a nationwide downsizing of its physical stores.
As Sears also fights the decline of brick and mortar retail, it’s selling its Craftsman tool brand for $525 million.
