Officials at the Seneca Park Zoo says the California sea lion pup born at the zoo earlier this year has died.
Sunny was born in June. Last week she was found at the bottom of the exhibit pool. Zoo staff tried CPR but it was unsuccessful.
This is the third sea lion fatality at the zoo this year. Sunny’s mother, Marina, died in September after suffering a seizure. The male sea lion, Boomerang, died in October of natural causes. A necropsy has not shown the exact cause of death.
Only one sea lion remains in the Rocky Coasts exhibit.
