Schumer in GreeceUnited States Senator Chuck Schumer says the State Public Service Commission has reached a settlement that will keep an RG&E substation from cutting a Chili farm in half.

Senator Schumer says the agreement puts the substation on a new site in Henrietta instead of on the Krenzer Family Farm in Chili. The Krenzers and the utility have been in talks since February trying to resolve their issues with the senator’s prodding.  He’s been working with the family since plans for a substation and power line first surfaced in 2013.

The substation is part of a necessary modernization of the regional electric grid.
