United States Senator Chuck Schumer says there are nearly 150 structurally deficient bridges in the Finger Lakes Region, and the American Rescue Plan approved by the Senate and now before the House of Representatives will provide $346 million to fix them.
Schumer spoke at a Monday press conference in front of the Monroe Avenue Bridge on 590 in Brighton. He said all of New York will get $13.5 billion dollars in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. Nearly $2 Billion of that is exclusively for new bridge replacement and repair.
Schumer says there’s a $400 million backlog of repairs needed for Rochester and Finger Lakes Region roads and bridges.
