United States Senator Charles Schumer is calling on the Secretary of Agriculture and U.S. trade officials to investigate new Canadian dairy trade policies he says could hurt dairy farmers in Upstate New York.
Schumer says Canada is putting limits on importing milk products into Canada. Schumer said this flies in the face of current U.S.-Canadian trade agreements.
