schneiderman-anti-hate-crimesNew York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and dozens of civil rights advocates stood together today against what they say is a surge of bias attacks across New York and nationwide.

Schneiderman says he’s issued a bulletin to all law enforcement agencies across the state, giving them guidance and support on investigating incidents such as the swastika recently put on a dorm wall at SUNY Geneseo. Schneiderman says his office wants to identify, investigate and prosecute any hate crimes against immigrants, religious or ethnic groups, women and LGBTQ New Yorkers.

Jewish, Muslim, Catholic and Protestant religious leaders met earlier with the Attorney General for a roundtable on how to head off such incidents.
