New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has filed a motion to join the federal lawsuit against President Trump’s immigration order.
Schneiderman says in the court filing he’s going this to “protect the rights of New York residents,” the economic welfare of its citizens and the interests of New York employers.
Schneiderman says the Trump executive order is unconstitutional and fundamentally un-American. He says it’s clearly aimed at the Muslim religion, which he contends violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment.
