A Schlegel Corporation worker was injured today (Tues) in a boiler accident at the company’s facility on Jefferson Road in Henrietta.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the 58-year-old employee was checking on a boiler, looking through its sight glass, when excessive pressure in the boiler opened its safety release valves. The pressure from the safety valves blew the man off his feet, leaving him with head pain and ringing in his years.
The employee was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated and is expected to be OK.
