A Holley man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after his conviction last year on wire and mail fraud charges.
Nathaniel Lorenz will also have to pay $600,000 in restitution and spend two years on post-release supervision. Lorenz was found guilty of submitting fake invoices to the State Department of Transportation while he was a DOT contractor. He was responsible for maintenance of bridges in the Buffalo and Binghamton regions, but he was hiding the fact that he never bought the materials to do the work.
Lorenz’s company, ACME Power Washing, collected more than a million dollars from the state for work that he never performed. State auditors caught him trading the invoices with a shell company that he also owned in an effort to launder the money.
