Buffalo edges Minnesota, 2-1, on goals by Ryan O’Reilly and Johan Larsson.

Brian Gionta’s shot was redirected by Johan Larsson late in the third period to propel the Buffalo Sabres to their third consecutive victory with a 2-1 triumph over the Wild on Tuesday night in Minnesota. It was the third assist of the season for the Greece native and Sabres captain.

Buffalo goalie Robin Lehner registered 27 saves in earning the victory.

Ryan O’Reilly put the Sabres in front with an unassisted goal in the first period. The Wild knotted the contest with a power play tally late in the second stanza.

With the win, the Sabres moved about .500 with a 4-3-2 record.

Buffalo is home to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

The Sabres also announced that the team recalled forward Justin Bailey from the Rochester Americans.

Bailey (21, 6-f00t-3, 214 lbs.) joins the Sabres for his first recall of the season after appearing in his first 8 NHL games for Buffalo last season. With 45 points (20+25) for the Americans in his first professional season in 2015-16, the Buffalo native tallied more goals, assists and points for Rochester than any other skater.

The Sabres’ second-round pick (52nd overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft, Bailey has totaled 4 points (3+1) in seven games with the Americans so far this season. He played against the Wild and had 2 hits.
