Buffalo had a scoring party when they pummelled the Senators to get back in the win column.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres carried their strong third period from Thursday into the start today against the Ottawa Senators.
After a nice ceremony honoring Jason Pominville’s 1,000 games played, the club got off to a quick start.
Kyle Okposo scored the first goal of the game just under six minutes in. He came down the wing on the rush and ripped a shot past Craig Anderson for his fourth of the season.
The top line of Jack Eichel, Jeff Skinner, and Jason Pominville continued to keep humming. Skinner picked up the second goal of the game off a rebound from an Eichel shot.
Just a few minutes later Pominville notched the third goal of the game on a rebound from a Skinner shot to make it 3-0 and that would be the end of Anderson’s afternoon. He was replaced by newly called up Mike McKenna.
The rout was on in the second period. Skinner scored his second of the game and eighth of the season to make it 4-0.
A few moments later, Zemgus Girgensons got his first of the season off of a nice pass from Patrik Berglund to make it 5-0.
Max McCormick tried to ruin the fun by scoring for the Senators to make it 5-1 just after the Sabres scored. However, Pominville scored his second of the game just a few minutes later for a 6-1 lead.
Conor Sheary joined the scoring party and added the extra point on the breakaway with a nice shot to make it 7-1 in favor of the home team.
The Sabres added two more goals in the third period and the Senators netted one of their own.
Berglund picked up his second of the season.
Casey Mittelstadt tallied his second of the season as well for the ninth Sabres goal of the afternoon.
Sabres are back at it Sunday night in Madison Square Garden when they visit the New York Rangers.
