The Buffalo Sabres officially announced their 2019-20 regular season schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
Of the 82 games this season, some understandably hold more importance than others.
The Sabres will open their home schedule on Saturday, October 5 against P.K. Subban, Jack Hughes, and the New Jersey Devils.
Among the other schedule highlights:
First West Coast road trip: Oct. 16 at Anaheim, Oct. 17 at Los Angeles and Oct. 19 at San Jose.
NHL Global Series in Sweden: Nov. 8 vs. Tampa Bay and Nov. 9 at Tampa Bay – both games will take place in Stockholm, Sweden.
Black Friday in Buffalo: The Sabres host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 4 PM matchup.
Champions in Buffalo: The Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues will be in Buffalo on Dec. 10.
New Years Eve: Buffalo hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 31 at 7 PM.
Regular season finale: Buffalo plays host to Philadelphia on April 4.
The longest home stand of the season will take place from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, when the Sabres will play five consecutive home games. The team will play eight afternoon games at KeyBank Center this season, including four of their nine Saturday home games:
• Monday, Oct. 14 vs. Dallas, 3 p.m. (Columbus Day)
• Saturday, Dec. 21 vs. Los Angeles, 1 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 11 vs. Vancouver, 1 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 1 vs. Columbus, 1 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 9 vs. Anaheim, 3 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 23 vs. Winnipeg, 3 p.m.
• Saturday, March 21 vs. Chicago, 2 p.m.
• Sunday, March 22 vs. NY Rangers, 3 p.m.
The Sabres will play 14 back-to-back sets and get a 9-day layoff in January, when the team’s bye week runs into the NHL All-Star Break. Buffalo will conclude the season with 14 of its last 16 games against Eastern Conference opponents.
