The forward tied for the team lead in goals in 55 games last season with Rochester.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres announced on Friday that the team has re-signed forward Andrew Oglevie to a 2-year, 2-way contract.

A picture containing person, outdoor, player, baseball Description automatically generatedOglevie, 25, completed his second season with the Rochester Americans in 2019-20, tying for first on the team with 15 goals and ranking fourth with a career-high 29 points in 55 games. He also tied for fifth in the AHL with a team-high six game-winning goals and notched the team’s only hat trick of the season, the first of his pro career, in a 3-2 win at Cleveland back on Nov. 30, 2019.

In 83 career games with the Amerks over two seasons, the Fullerton, CA., native has amassed 39 points on 20 goals and 19 assists.

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward played three seasons at the University of Notre Dame, where he totaled 89 points (41+48) in 107 regular-season games for the Fighting Irish. As a junior, Oglevie served as an alternate captain and ranked second among team skaters with 39 points (15+24), leading the team in goals for the second straight year on his way to earning Notre Dame Offensive Player of the Year honors for the 2017-18 season.

He finished his collegiate career by helping the Fighting Irish to a 2018 Big Ten championship and paced all NCAA players with seven points (3+4) in four games in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, leading Notre Dame to the championship game and earning All-Tournament Team honors.

Oglevie was also named Notre Dame’s most improved player following his sophomore season in which he posted career-high totals in goals (21) and points (41).
