The Buffalo Sabres made another roster move Monday morning. They announced they’ve place forward Jean-Sebastian Dea on waivers for assignment to the Rochester Americans. He was signed as a free agent this summer and will be a big part of the Amerks this season as long as he clears waivers, which is expected.
After being placed on waivers Sunday, forward C.J. Smith and goaltender Andrew Hammond cleared waivers at noon Monday. They were officially assigned to Amerks. The Sabres AHL affiliate opened their training camp today in Rochester.
The team also announced today that forwards Conor Sheary and Johan Larsson are day-to-day with minor injuries. Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen also missed practice today with an illness.
The Sabres return to the ice on Wednesday for their second last preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Coach Ralph Krueger said today the goal was to have as close to a opening night lineup as possible play on the weekend against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
