Buffalo doubles up the Senators as they prepare for the regular season opener next week.

Evander Kane and Sam Reinhart each had two points to help the Buffalo Sabres defeat the Ottawa Senators 4-2 in each team’s preseason finale at Canadian Tire Centre on Friday night.

Reinhart gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead at 10:41 of the first period and Kane made it 4-1 at 8:18 of the third, with Reinhart getting the assist.

Center Jack Eichel had an assist and was plus-2 in 18:31 of ice time, and forward Derek Grant scored a short-handed goal to give the Sabres a 3-0 lead at 7:22 of the second period.

Goalie Robin Lehner made 30 saves for Buffalo.

Forwards Kyle Turris and Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored, and goalie Craig Anderson allowed four goals on 25 shots for Ottawa.

The Sabres open the regular season against the Montreal Canadiens at KeyBank Center on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; SN360, MSG-B, RDS).

RFA defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has practiced with the Sabres, but he cannot play in any games because he has not yet signed a contract.
