The Sabres (14-27-9) were shut out for the fifth time this season and had a three-game winning streak end.
Hall gave New Jersey a 2-0 lead at 5:31 of the third period when he received a cross-ice pass from Jesper Bratt and scored on a wrist shot off Robin Lehner’s glove for his 18th goal.
Hall returned after missing the past three games and the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday with a thumb injury.
