Monroe County Deputies investigated social media threats made against the Rush-Henrietta School District.
Deputies say the school district contacted them on Sunday after discovering a Snapchat video in which four junveniles talked about potential violence. The homes of all four were searched and the students were interviewed. Investigators concluded there was no credible threat.
Later that night, deputies were alerted to another Snapchat which showed a juvenile holding a gun and saying “Who want me to be the shooter?” In this case, a search turned up a gun at the juvenile’s home which was confiscated.
At a news conference, deputies said they also investigated an anonymous tipline message last week about a student possibly wanting to bring a gun to Rush-Henrietta High School. No actual threat was detected.
Deputies say these statements are alarming and every one will be investigated.
