Greece Police are asking people to stop sharing rumors about a threat to Greece Central School District students, after a social media buzz started on Thursday.
The issue apparently began with a report of alarming photos being posted. Greece Police Chief Gerald Phelan tweeted that the incident was investigated and found not to be a credible threat. He’s asking people not to repost or share the rumors.
The photos involved a student holding a gun. It was a paintball gun, and a non-functioning one at that.
Just to be sure, Greece Police stationed officers at Arcadia High School today.
