It’s the second anniversary of the RTS Transit Center in downtown Rochester, and RTS says more than 21 million customers have passed through it over those two years.
The transit agency says the center has handled 1.2 million buses through its doors and hosted 30 customer service events. They say the center has won nine design awards.
CEO Bill Carpenter says the center has already proven its worth every time it snowed and bus riders didn’t have to wait out in the weather.
Carpenter also says Route 10 up Dewey Avenue to Greece will expand service in January so all 10s run from downtown to the Dewey Avenue Walmart. Currently some trips only go as far as Ridge road.
