Rochester Police say they’ve had a chance to review street camera footage of Wednesday’s four-way crash involving an RTS bus, and they’ve revised their description of what happened as a result.

Police now say the bus was coming south on Dewey Avenue approaching Emerson Street, when the bus sideswiped both a parked minivan and a city trash truck, then smashed into the rear of a car waiting for the red light at the intersection.

The impact sent the car spinning into the intersection.

The crash at about 2:30 p.m. sent 11 people to Rochester General and Strong Memorial Hospitals. None was seriously injured, most suffering bumps and bruises.

Police are investigating why the bus didn’t stop. No tickets have been issued so far.
