A video that shows a couple of young women dancing on the hood of a Rochester Police patrol car has drawn poor reviews from the police chief.

It was uploaded to Twitter last weekend by a young man who witnessed the incident in the East End and says he thought it was favorable interaction between community and police.

The man told 13 WHAM the women had been denied entry to a nightclub because they were underdressed. They laughingly asked the officer if they could twerk by his patrol car. He said he’d turn his back for a minute, and the young women did their thing.

The police union says the officer acted appropriately; he thought the girls just wanted to take a picture, and they’re always being told to have good community relations.

Chief Michael Ciminelli said in a statement that this was an inappropriate image and the matter has been dealt with internally.

Both he and Mayor Lovely Warren said at a news conference this week they can’t believe the interest in this incident the same week a police officer was shot at by a suspect.
