Rochester police are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2019, and it came when the new year was barely five hours old.
Police say they were called to 10 Stout Street shortly after 5:00 a.m on New Year’s Day. They found the body of a man who’d been shot at least once in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman had also been shot. She was taken by a private car to Rochester General Hospital, also shot in the upper body. Medical personnel say she should recover.
The investigation is continuing. The area of Garson and Stout Street was closed for the morning.
