Rochester Police have begun their rollout of the body-worn camera program. Nine Clinton Section officers are already wearing the cameras on duty, and they hope to have another 25 equipped by the end of August.
Authorities say they’re bringing the cameras online slowly, working out any bugs as they go.
Police say patrol officers will turn the cameras on when they get a 911 call, and keep them on until they have finished responding to the call. All the video and audio will be stored by the department.
