Democrat Hilda Rosario-Escher says after considering for several weeks, she’s decided to move forward and concede the attempt to become her party’s candidate for the 56th State Senate District.
Rosario-Escher raised questions after last month’s primary election because of confusion in some of the new polling places set up because of COVID-19. Some of her supporters got the wrong ballot forms and were unable to vote for her. Democrat Jeremy Cooney won the direct vote and the absentee ballots and was declared the winner by a wide margin.
Rosario-Escher, who is Executive Director of the Ibero-American Action League, says she remains a director of Empire State Development and is still able to influence state policy on behalf of her community. She was while disappointed, she will continue to advocate for Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes Region.
