Rochester Police have confirmed the identities of the two women found dead Friday morning in their home on Wellington Avenue: Christie Brooks of Rochester and her 18-year-old daughter, Victoria Brooks. The crime remained under investigation through the weekend.
Rochester Police say they believe there is no danger to anyone else in the neighborhood, but Chief Michael Ciminelli told reporters Friday that police couldn’t say much more. He did say police got a 911 call from 206 Wellington after family members found the bodies and seven or eight other children in the house. The chief said police can’t comment on any suspect.
The daughter was home on break from Canisius College in Buffalo and is an Our Lady Of Mercy graduate. Both the high school and the college have released statements of sympathy and support for the family.
Neighbors say they heard no shots and no sounds of a struggle or screams during the night.
