Diane Bentivegna of Rochester says she just wants her dog back.

Her dog, Ruby, went missing July 28th in Rochester. She posted on social media and offered a $500 reward. In mid-November she was contacted by a Wayne County woman who sent pictures confirming she had Ruby. Bentivegna says the woman brought Ruby home, but refused to give her back because Bentivegna didn’t have the $500 reward on hand.

The woman still has the dog and has advertised it for sale on Facebook. The group Operation Gypsy says Bentivegna has been to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and was told they can’t act without a Rochester police report, which city police haven’t produced yet.

Bentivegna says the woman refuses to release her dog and her lawyer has threatened Operation Gypsy with legal action for publicizing the case.

Meanwhile, the Rochester woman just wants her dog back.
