A Rochester woman has been charged with arson for setting the four-alarm fire at 649 Monroe Avenue back in April.

The Rochester Arson Task Force says 27-year-old Shakirrah Crumity set the fire during a domestic dispute. The apartment block was heavily damaged by fire, forcing people and animals out onto the fire escapes. Two Rochester firefighters suffered minor injuries during their attack on the fire. The building remains vacant today.

Crumity was sent to the Monroe County Jail to await arraignment.
