Rochester Police have charged a 20-year-old city woman with causing her boyfriend’s death by running him down with a car.

Police say Elizabeth Page was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when she ran over her boyfriend early this morning on Henrietta Street. She’s been charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first degree vehicular manslaughter.

Officers were called to a driveway near the corner of Henrietta and Beaufort Streets about 3:00 this morning. They found 26-year-old Michael Hackney trapped under a car. the Rochester Fire Department lifted the car off him and he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Court documents filed against Page say the charge is a first degree  because Page has a previous DWI conviction from last year, and is currently on probation.
