The City of Rochester will join a coalition of other environmentally-minded cities in electrifying their vehicle fleets.
Mayor Lovely Warren says the city is joining the Climate Mayors Electric Vehicle Purchasing Collaborative. That means they’re teaming up to buy electric cars and trucks, gradually transitioning their fleets away from gas and diesel power. Together, the cities say they can cut gasoline use by a million gallons a year by going electric.
The collective was launched last fall and represents 127 American cities.
