The family of a Rochester teenager who claims he was assaulted by Rochester Police is suing City Hall.
The Reverend Lewis Stewart says 18-year-old Ricky Bryant was jumped by a number of officers, punched, kicked and shot with a TASER in an apparent case of mistaken identity. Stewart says the city hasn’t been forthcoming with information about the incident.
Attorney Charles Berkley is representing Bryant. he says they have many unanswered questions four months after the incident, and they want to know the results of the police department’s internal investigation.
Police Chief Michael Ciminelli said at the time that video of the incident doesn’t tell the whole story. The patrol officers’ union says the teenager failed to put his hands up when ordered.
