The City of Rochester has released a request for designers and builders to bid on building the city’s first urban skatepark.

The city wants to see it built on South Avenue at Woodbury Boulevard downtown, near the Geva Theater and the Anthony-Douglass Bridge. It would be free to the public and accommodate skateboarders, BMX bikes, rollerblading, scooters and related sports.

The city will hold a meeting at its water bureau August 2nd to show prospective developers what it has in mind and discuss the project. Deadline for proposals is August 17th.
