The Rochester City School District is hiring Monroe County Finance Director Robert Franklin as its new Chief Finance Officer. Franklin will replace former CFO Everton Sewell, who resigned in October following revelations the district overspent its last budget by $30 million. Franklin worked for about 20 years for Monroe County.
County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says Franklin has been an integral part of her team, bringing a responsible and common-sense approach to county budgeting. School Superintendent Terry Dade says Franklin will be key to fixing the district’s finances.
