A Rochester psychiatrist involved in another man’s fatal drug overdose has lost his medical license. Doctor William Lewek has been prohibited from practicing medicine in New York by the State Board for Professional Misconduct.
Lewek was sentenced about a year-and-a-half ago for evidence tampering after he tried to cover up the death of Matthew Straton, who died of a drug overdose in his house. He tried to bury Straton’s body in his backyard.
Lewek voluntarily surrendered his license about a year before his sentencing. He’s currently serving a four year term in state prison.
