Rochester police officers shot and wounded a dog that charged them Monday evening at 77 Lozier Street.
Police were called to the neighborhood for reports of a loose, aggressive dog chasing people. When they spotted the brown pit bull it reportedly charged the officers, who fired and struck it at least once.
The dog ran, but was found on Chili Avenue. The dog’s owner was located and arranged for a veterinarian to treat the animal.
The incident remains under investigation.
