A call for family trouble on Boardman Street led to a Rochester police officer being injured when he was dragged by a car.

Police were called to the location and found a vehicle with two people inside. The driver refused orders to get out of the car, and when an officer opened the door and tried to take the man into custody, he hit the accelerator and took off with the officer partly inside the car.

The man crashed into three parked cars, one of them an RPD patrol car. The airbags deployed and the officer was thrown from the car.

Despite being injured, the officer was able to take part in taking both occupants of the car into custody. He was later treated at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Charges are being determined.
