Rochester Police have identified two bodies found under unusual circumstances over the past week.
They’ve identified the man whose body was found in a truckload of recycling Monday as Nathan Ayers, a 65-year-old homeless man. Based on an autopsy by the Monroe County Medical Examiner, they believe Ayers climbed into the dumpster at School 29 on Kirkland Road early Monday morning. They believe he died before the contents of the dumpster were emptied into the recycling truck.
Police have also put a name to the man whose body was found in the Genesee River near the Upper Falls last week. He’s been identified as 27-year-old Theodore Diggs of Rochester. Police have confirmed his identity, but haven’t said how his body came to be in the river, where a construction worker spotted it a week ago Monday below the Inner Loop bridge.
