A Rochester police car was involved in a crash Saturday when police tried to take a man into custody who was sitting in a stolen car.
Police say the man put the car in gear and took off, with the officer suffering a minor shoulder injury trying to stop him. Other officers in the area gave chase. A police car was damaged when it hit a light pole at Danforth and Colvin Streets.
The suspect vehicle hit a curb on Frost Avenue while trying to get away, causing a flat tire. The suspect jumped out and ran, and hasn’t been arrested yet.
