A Rochester mother has been charged with second degree murder in the death of her infant daughter.
Police say Mabel Enid Rosado-Delgado drove her three-month-old daughter to Rochester General Hospital’s Emergency Department at about 11:15 p.m. on June 13th. The child had suffered severe trauma and appeared to be dead. Young Karen Victoria Castro-Rosado was pronounced dead about half-an-hour after arriving at the hospital.
The police Special Victims Unit began an investigation and an autopsy was performed this week by the Monroe County Medical Examiner. It ruled the baby’s death was a homicide, caused by blunt force trauma.
After its investigation, the SVU charged Mabel Enid Rosa-Delgado with murder, alleging in a criminal complaint that she inflicted blunt force injury on her daughter, causing her death.
