A 26-year-old Rochester man will serve 20 years in state prison for kidnapping, 15 years for first degree robbery and 10 years for two counts of second degree robbery. That means Vernon Cleveland Jr will serve a total of 35 years in prison followed by five years on parole.

Cleveland was found guilty in February of holding up a restaurant delivery driver at gunpoint, then forcing him into the trunk of his car where he was held for half-an-hour before escaping.

He was sentenced today in Monroe County Court.
