A 33-year-old Rochester man was shot Thursday afternoon on Weld Street, shortly after an anti-violence rally was held on the site of a Rochester woman’s murder in the same neighborhood.

An officer on patrol heard gunshots around 2:00 p.m. and police began searching the area around Weld and Union Streets. They found the victim shot in the upper body. He was taken to the hospital and is recovering.

No arrests have been made.
