A Rochester man involved in a murder outside Mark’s Texas Hots in 2014 has been sentenced to 25-years-to-life in prison. Jesmond Hart was found guilty in November of second degree murder and weapons possession.
Jamar Paige was shot down in the parking lot of the Lake Avenue restaurant. He was the father of a three-month-old son. At sentencing on Friday, Hart apologized to the Paige family and said he was defending himself when he shot Paige four times.
Members of the family said justice was done and they believe their loved one was ambushed by Hart.
Another man, 24-year-old Malik Hymes, was arrested during Hart’s trial for secretly videoing the proceedings on his phone.
