A Rochester man who detonated three bombs in his neighborhood has been sentenced to serve two years in prison.

Federal prosecutors say 50-year-old James Pane set off the explosions in the Leander Road/Falleson Road neighborhood a year ago. One home was damaged in one of the explosions.

Neighbors also reported getting letters from an anonymous sender who threatened more bombings unless he was paid money he claimed he was owed by a resident of Falleson Road. A search of Pane’s garage and trash turned up evidence linking him to those letters and the bombings. He pleaded guilty to charges of threatening by mail and destroying property by means of an explosive device.
