The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a 27-year-old Rochester man has been sentenced to five years plus three months in federal prison after being found guilty of bank robbery.

Luis Osorio was charged along with his younger brother and another man for a June, 2014 robbery of the Chase Bank at 2900 Dewey Avenue in Rochester. Two of the men held up the bank using a note which claimed they had a gun, and met up with Luis Osorio who helped plan the robbery later.

They were arrested a week later when Rochester Police spotted them leaving the Citizens Bank at 230 Waring Road after apparently surveying the place. Police tailed the men and moved in when they saw them putting fake license plates on their SUV. They were caught after a five-block chase in which the SUV rammed a police car.
