A 26-year-old Rochester man will face up to 20 years in prison after pleading “guilty” this afternoon to charges of providing material support to a terrorist organization.
Emanuel Lutchman pleaded “guilty” to the charge in federal court in Rochester. He was arrested on New Year’s Eve for allegedly plotting to bomb a Rochester bar and attack people with a machete and knives while they celebrated the new year.
Lutchman was allegedly encouraged to carry out the attack by someone he believed to be an ISIS figure overseas. What he didn’t realize was that the people he asked to help him buy supplies in Rochester for his planned attack were FBI informants.
Lutchman had several past arrests and a record suggesting mental health issues.
