A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer after punching a court security officer in the metal detector line at the Federal Building.
Federal prosecutors say 48-year-old Swyn Nelson was at the Keating Federal Building to report to his parole officer. When asked to wait before walking through the metal detector, then to walk through a second time after he refused to wait, Nelson lost his temper and charged the security officer, punching him in the side of the head.
Nelson was arrested and now faces up to eight years in federal prison.
