The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing Rochester man.
They say 83-year-old Richard Myers stopped by the Smith Boys Marina on Route 21 to get help starting his boat, and was last seen on the lake heading towards his cottage in South Bristol. The boat washed up just north of Myers’ cottage about half-an-hour later. The engine had been shut down.
Deputies say Myers is known to take a swim off his boat in that area. They conducted an extensive land and water search but didn’t find anything. The search continues Tuesday morning.
