A Monroe County Court Jury has found 21-year-old Jonathan Ortiz guilty of second degree murder, attempted robbery and weapon possession charges.

All were connected with an attempted robbery nearly two years ago at 26 Ludwig Park in Rochester. Ortiz and co-defendant Trevon McKinnon were accused of trying to force their way into 31-year-old Jamal Chester’s home. Both men started shooting as they pushed through the door and Chester was killed.

All six persons connected with the crime have now been tried and convicted on related charges. Ortiz will be sentenced next month.
