Federal prosecutors say a 55-year-old Rochester man has pleaded guilty to attempting to defraud the Holiday Inn of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Henry Williams was working as a front desk clerk at the Holiday Inn back in January when he began using the hotel’s Point of Sale machine to fraudulently load the funds onto credit cards that he controlled. Williams then tried to cover his tracks by impersonating another hotel employee and making false complaints of criminal activity by another hotel employee.
Williams managed to steal just under five-thousand-dollars, and attempted to steal 840-thousand-dollars in additional fraudulent refunds.
