Rochester police have arrested 28-year-old Jonathan Spinks of Rochester on charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon after he was indicted on those charges by a Monroe County Grand Jury.
Spinks is accused of shooting 18-year-old Lysaun Curry to death ambush-style in the driveway of 41 Trenaman Street. Curry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Spinks has been in the Monroe County Jail on a burglary charge sInce October of 2020, shortly after the shooting took place. Spinks was previously accused of breaking into another residence on Hawley Street, shooting and seriously wounding a woman who lived there.
