Police in LeRoy say they’ve arrested a 52-year-old Rochester man on petit larceny charges after a two-month investigation into thefts of over-the-counter drugs from pharmacies in four counties.
They say Thomas Gilbert of Rochester stole nearly $400 worth of Alli weight-loss pills from the Walgreen’s store in LeRoy in late January. They found a suspect believed to be the same man had stolen Prevagen pills from CVS stores in Avon, Rochester and Farmington. He also stole headlight bulbs from an Advantage Auto in Geneva.
Eventually they identified Gilbert as the suspect and arrested him at his home in Rochester with the assistance of city police. Additional charges are pending.
